What is POI - and why is it important to know?
POI, or premature ovarian insufficiency, means the ovaries lose their function before age 40. Symptoms can include absent or irregular periods, sweating, fatigue, and difficulty getting pregnant. What can the test show you?
AMH - your egg reserve
AMH provides a picture of how many eggs you have left. Low AMH can be an early indication of POI.
FSH - a sign of ovarian activity
Elevated FSH can indicate that the ovaries are working harder to mature eggs - something often seen in POI.
Estradiol and other hormones
Low estradiol can explain symptoms like sweating and dryness. The test gives you the full picture.
